But this isn't the life she remembers. As time go by, Samantha discovers she is the object of an elaborate deception, one large enough to include, other worlds, body doubles, time travel, world-hopping, and a galaxy guardian as cold as ice. Is her charming husband in on this deception?
The original cover of Charming Deception was a photo I took in Clearwater Beach, Florida.
It seems so appropriate because I wrote the beginning of Charming Deception while staying in Clearwater Beach at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort, which was where we stayed on our honeymoon.
Revisiting it for our thirtieth anniversary was such a lovely treat. My husband asked that I not bring my laptop. He didn't want this to be a working vacation. So, after a very confused dream, I woke up and wrote the first scene of Charming Deception on my cell phone.
The new cover, above, suits the book so much better. A vulnerable Samantha and a mirror that may or may not be a portal to another dimension.
