Dear Gentle Readers,
Yesterday I told you a little about my third novel, The Baslicato, which is partially set in Basilicata Province, Italy. The map above will show you where it is. It's flag is the wavy blue lines on a white background, situated on the Bay of Taranta.
The title is purposefully misspelled to be more in line with the dialect pronunciation, which would be buzz-lee-gud.
Basilicata province was used as a location in the movie The Passion of the Christ because some of the stone streets and buildings resemble ancient Jerusalem.
Tourism isn't too big of a business there... yet, but the wine from the region is wonderful. It's made from the local grape, the Aglianico, which is a perfectly balanced rich grape that grows only in Basilicata.
