Dear Gentle Readers,
In the last few months, I have been busy re-editing my first three full-length novels. BLUE LAKE, BELTERRA, and The BASLICATO. They were written from 2009 through 2011. They needed a little upgrade. The stories themselves have not changed, but they have been tweaked.
There were a few typos that managed to sneak by an editor, two beta readers, and me. And there were more than a few spacing issues that showed up in the kindle edition that were not in my original manuscript. Periods were missing, or showed up in the wrong places. A bracket appeared out of the blue!
So I took the last two months to go back and re-read and re-edit. They are still powerful stories of love and loss, life and lunacy. I am very proud of them.
I asked Amazon to please send out updates to all who purchased them. After much deliberation and communication, a team determined the corrections were only minor and did not warrant a widespread update.
However, there is a way for you to get the updates of the ebooks you have purchased, and not just mine. At the time I only know how to do this on a computer. I'm still working on the mobile device method.
On your computer or laptop, open your kindle application and go to your account. Scroll down to "Manage Your Account and Devices." Click and scroll down to "Automatic Book Updates" and click on ON.
Now, I have done this with other authors' books, but I am unable to do this with my own books because they are mine. If you want the update, please try this. If it works, let me know!
The only story where I think you may notice the difference is The BASLICATO, where I had some newer technology in the story that wasn't available in the sixties when they story takes place. It is still there, just simply renamed or re-explained.
These have been rough months for indie authors. Many are questioning whether the efforts we put forth ar worth it. Sales are down. The field is crowded out. It is increasingly difficult to get readers to write reviews for books they claim they love, yet the trolls are vocal. If you've liked an indie or small publishing house book, please consider leaving an honest review. It doesn't have to be long or flowery. You can sign it Amazon customer or whatever you want to remain anonymous. But please consider leaving a review.
Thank you for your continuing support. I know you're out there and I appreciate you.
